Stream Deck and keyboard shortcuts

Native Stream Deck plugin

Download the optional Snapmodo .streamDeckPlugin installer from https://snapmodo.com/support/stream-deck-and-shortcuts/ and open it in Stream Deck. The Mac App Store installs Snapmodo itself; the Stream Deck plugin is installed separately. In Stream Deck, find the Snapmodo category and drag an action onto a key. Icons are included. Available actions include screenshot to editor or clipboard, repeat region, start/stop/pause recording, camera layouts, scrolling capture and opening Snapmodo.

Use the Snapmodo plugin actions rather than putting snapmodo:// URLs in System > Open's App/File field. That field expects an application or file path.

The app should be installed as /Applications/Snapmodo.app. The plugin can launch it. A Start recording key opens source selection/framing; it does not bypass permissions or the Record confirmation. Current plugin icons are static and do not display live recording status.

Keyboard shortcuts

Open Settings > Shortcuts, click an assignment and press the desired keys. Print Screen (when sent by the keyboard as F13) and other function keys can be assigned without modifiers. Letters and ordinary typing keys require Control, Option or Command. Click an assignment first; Escape cancels. Snapmodo suspends its own capture hotkeys while recording a new assignment. Some keyboards remap Print Screen through their companion software; if no key reaches Snapmodo, check that mapping. Snapmodo prevents duplicate assignments within its own list. macOS or another application can still reserve a combination.

Defaults: Control + Option + 1 takes a screenshot; 2 starts recording setup; 3 stops; 4 pauses/resumes; 5 adds a scrolling frame or starts a scrolling capture.

Other launchers

Settings > Stream Deck includes copyable URLs for Apple Shortcuts and launchers that support custom app URLs. Examples are snapmodo://capture?destination=clipboard and snapmodo://record. Do not paste custom URLs into an unrelated file-path field.

Troubleshooting

Confirm Snapmodo is installed in Applications. Confirm the key is a Snapmodo action. Restart Stream Deck after installing the plugin if the category is absent. Test a screenshot key first; permission setup happens in Snapmodo. Do not reset macOS privacy permissions as a routine first troubleshooting step.
