Your captures belong to you.

Snapmodo is provided by Matano Enterprises LLC. This policy covers the Snapmodo Mac app and snapmodo.com. Contact hello@matanoit.com with privacy or support questions.

The Mac app

Snapmodo does not upload your captures. The app has no feature-usage analytics, advertising SDKs or automatic media uploads. The Mac App Store edition does not require a Snapmodo account. The direct edition connects to your Snapmodo account for trials, license activation and software updates. Screenshots, recordings, camera and microphone tracks, edits and preferences are stored locally on your Mac.

Permissions with a purpose

Screen & System Audio Recording permission lets you capture the screen and, when enabled, computer audio. Camera and microphone access are optional and used only for the inputs you enable. Processing occurs on your Mac. You can revoke these permissions in macOS System Settings.

You choose what to share

Copying puts an image on the system clipboard. Other apps and clipboard synchronization services may handle it according to your settings. Exports and macOS sharing happen at your request. Any destination you choose has its own privacy practices. Snapmodo does not automatically send your captures to us.

Local storage and deletion

You control captures through the local library and exported files through Finder. Original media is preserved while editing, including areas covered by markup. Use solid redaction for secrets and share the flattened export, rather than the original project. Blur is not secure redaction. macOS backups and third-party backup services may retain copies according to your settings.

Purchases and Apple services

For the Mac App Store edition, Apple handles purchases and updates under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment card details. If you opt into Apple’s diagnostic sharing or TestFlight testing, Apple may process diagnostics and feedback under its policies.

Website privacy choices

Optional tracking is off by default. A small notice lets you allow, reject or customize optional cookies. Nothing optional starts before your choice. You can enable selected tools, keep them off, or withdraw a previous choice at any time. Essential services needed to deliver the site and manage your account continue to work.

This website

Cloudflare hosts this site and processes standard request information such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp and browser information to deliver and secure it. On the public website, Google Analytics loads only if you choose Usage analytics in our privacy controls. It measures visits, scroll depth, pricing views, navigation and demonstration interactions on selected marketing pages using cookies and browser, device and page information. Referring sites are reduced to their origin, without search terms or URL paths. Event-level Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months; aggregate reports may remain longer. We do not send account pages, license keys, email addresses, query strings or captures to Analytics. Analytics is disabled on private staging. You can reject optional tracking or withdraw your choice using Privacy choices in the footer or the controls on this page. We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals by keeping optional tracking off. Microsoft Clarity loads separately only if you choose Session replay. It provides heatmaps and recordings of interactions on eligible public marketing pages, with page text masked. It is disabled on account pages, private staging and URLs containing query strings or fragments. Neither tool accesses your captures in the Mac app. We do not enable Google advertising features or Meta Pixel. Microsoft’s privacy statement describes its processing. Google’s privacy policy explains how Google processes information. Interactive demonstrations use sample media in your browser and do not access your screen, camera or microphone.

Direct accounts, licenses and purchases

Direct customers provide a name and email address; company is optional. We retain verified account details, trial and purchase records, license assignment, a device public-key identifier and the Mac name you provide. These support account recovery, individual licensing for up to two Macs, trial limits and updates. Stripe processes checkout and payment details; we retain payment references and fulfillment status rather than card details. Resend sends account and license emails and supplies delivery status. Optional product emails require a separate choice and can be turned off in your account. Essential account and license messages continue. Starting a trial in the app requires your name and email, with no account verification before capture. We store those trial contact details separately from verified accounts, along with the device identifier and trial dates. We send a trial-start email, one reminder before expiration, and an expiration email with a purchase link. These reminders stop when a purchase under the same email is fulfilled. Optional marketing stays separate and requires verified account sign-in before the requested preference is used. Contact us for access or deletion requests; some transaction and fraud-prevention records may need to be retained.

Support correspondence

If you email us, we receive the address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and investigate your request and retain it only as needed for support and applicable obligations. Do not include passwords or sensitive captures. You can contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any required retention.

Account sign-in

WorkOS processes account authentication for Snapmodo. You may sign in with email and password, Google or Apple. When you choose Google or Apple, we receive the account identifier, email address, verification status and available profile name needed to sign you in and connect your licenses. We do not request access to your mail, contacts, files or captures. Authentication data is used for account access, security and license management, not advertising. Apple may provide a private relay address when you choose Hide My Email. A purchase under another email address is not automatically linked. Changes

We will update this page if our practices change. Cloud sharing is not offered. Any future service that processes additional information will be described here before it is activated.
