Permissions and devices

Screen capture requires macOS Screen & System Audio Recording permission. Enable camera and microphone permission when using those inputs. Snapmodo uses the devices exposed by macOS; drivers and device modes matter for USB, iPhone and Canon setups.

Camera, microphone and display availability depends on macOS permissions, device drivers and the connected hardware. Make a short test recording with your chosen inputs before an important session.

What the current build includes

Region, window and main-display capture; clipboard, editor or saved-image destinations.
Editable markup, blur, solid redaction and PNG/JPEG screenshot export.
SDR screen recordings at 30 fps, with optional microphone, computer audio and camera inputs.
9:16, 16:9, 1:1 and 4:5 recording formats, with window crop or fit.
Pause/resume, basic cuts, camera/screen layouts and MP4 export.
Configurable shortcuts and a separate Stream Deck companion with icons.

Practical limits

Scrolling capture uses guided overlapping frames, not universal automatic scrolling.
Resizing or minimizing the source window during recording pauses capture. Set up the window before recording.
Original tracks consume disk space. Available storage and recording duration affect capacity. A 20-minute recording test passed on the owner’s setup; results vary by hardware and workload.
Recovery is best effort. Keep originals until you have checked the exported result.
Cloud links, OCR, captions, automatic zooms, background removal and a full multi-clip timeline are not included.
Screenshot logo/text branding is implemented and has passed hands-on acceptance. Video branding is not included. Direct license management and app updates are included.

Which edition?

The direct edition offers a seven-day free trial and a Founder’s price $9.99 ~~$14.99~~ one-time purchase. One license, one person, up to two Macs. Deauthorize an individual Mac in Settings or your account to free a seat. Purchased downloads include the license key, with account access for recovery. Direct licensing is managed through your account. The Mac App Store edition uses Apple’s purchase and update systems; its usage terms are separate.
